Was it really 14 years ago I last posted to the Mozilla forums? Anyway, just done a new feature request which does explain the situation nicely. Although another nice to have did pop up and there may be an answer to that one. Rather than thunderbird creating it's own browser page, could it not switch to Firefox which has all the account passwords. Not something I use often and email links do go direct to Firefox so perhaps I am missing something. I have added Thunderbird to the Development bookmarks ...

While I have had a few setbacks today, such as my TV with the DVD player in developing a fault so that the screen blanks after a few minutes, the live websites seem to be as operational as they were. There are various posts covering the various bits of aggro, and quite a bit more that does need documenting, but I think I am back where I was last week. The only victim of all the mess is the log of activity on the new server as I forgot to include that in the backup, and Claude did not mention it when asked if I had covered everything! The chatbots really are not intelligent ...

The next step is to start to plan a ((Lester's roadmap|proper road map)) and stick to one element at a time. There are a lot of TODO elements around the sites and combining them into a coherent list is perhaps the first item on the roadmap, but I see that as ongoing, and I'm trying to think of a packaged element of work that can be properly described and addressed. This may well be a job for a package I have not yet restored from the development pile - tasks. Much as the was a planned bugreport package which never did get started. contact is live for me in the background and relies on tasks and events packages that were part of the caller management system, along with the address package which interfaced with the local government NLPG system. The historic material starts from lsces.uk Bitweaver and needs adding to the local Bitweaver - Web Framework list.

At least since the upgrade to Bitweaver5 I have not lost content due to it not being saved. Now that I've said it of cause things will go tits up, but I am hopeful that I've cleared the problem.
