Laser Printer Lidded Box
I started playing with the 3D printer while waiting for the laser cutter to run a profile, and got a little distracted, but while the 3D Printer is running 12 hour+ jobs I can get back to this and am making good progress on both machines. I've run four of these boxes in 3mm MDF, but one did not cut through cleanly, so there are only three sets of parts.
My current sheets are a little too big for the cutter at 60cm long, so end up with using half a sheet for each box.
Parts of the bottom ready to glue together and now I've found just what the smaller glue bottles are ideal for
The finished box goes together nicely once you get the parts the RIGHT way around, but I still need to find some metal to pin the hinge.
I assembled the first box using the normal wood glue dispenser, but things got a little messy, and while watching a video on assembling a more complex project I spotted that while I though they were using super glue to assemble, it was actually wood glue in a needle dispenser and I had seen mine while tidying more stuff up last week. The nozzle is perhaps a little small or the glue a little thick, but this box went together nicely.
