HIIT added to the mix

I am still having fun with waking up too early in the morning and am being told I need to 'relax more' which seems counter productive when I'm also told I need to get my heart rate up! The latest regime now includes a session of HIIT first thing in the morning, and splitting my 40 minute brisk walk into two higher intensity 20 minute walks. This makes sence and I added a second walk later yesterday which actually got my heart rate up into the 'Anaerobic' band, which I think is the first time I've hit that. I needed to burn off the Apple Crumble desert I had which had hit my calorie limit. Which seems to have worked as my weight has dropped back below 75kg again, but still need a little more.

Mistral was unable to give links to suitable videos and so I had to resort to search and initially tried to avoid youtube, but in the end I had to give in, finding a channel that caters for 'Seniors' and started with my sitting down. I am a little concerned about creating too much noise in the flat below which can be a problem! So for the moment I'm avoiding the 'running on the spot' ...

Start up with a warmup for five minutes.

Then a 10 minute more intense session. Which only managed a maximum heart rate of 110BPM and averaging 80BPM. The second walk managed a maximum heart rate of 138BPM and averaged 129BPM which sounds good for me.

The Samsung watch seems to be working better now that I've sorted out just where to position it on my wrist, which is a little way up arm where as long as the heart rate is fairly stable it gets readings on all of the exercise cycles and over night. When it fails to make a reading it says to move it up or down the arm, but in my case that makes no difference, so it is nice to have a good compromise. The only problem is that it is not entirely comfortable, but then I've never actually worn a watch in the past. I think I do need to try yet another strap that will work better holding the watch in place away for the actual wrist. The current one can slide down if I'm moving more vigorously.

Now just need to wait on a 24 hour ECG which has finally been scheduled since the last one was taken in 2022 and I think things have changed since.
