Trundled over to Hay on Wye on Sunday for the Vintage Fair. A few steam engines running, but only a couple of model ones. The traders stands were a lot more bric-a-brac than than other shows, although a few I recognised from previous ones. The annoying bit was that the 4 hour round trip and cost of petrol was more than the rest of the time and expense. I'd followed the sat-nav over and one third of the distance was on the M50, but that did not compensate for the delays either side. Took t…

Submitted this years tax return back in early April and because of what has been happening the last few years there was a negative profit figure so I was due a refund on the PAYE tax I had paid in April 2023. The system said that 'if there is a refund due it may take up to 12 weeks to process', so don't chase before then, so 17 weeks should be save to try and find out what is going on. Given the forcast of rain over the last few days which in the end was just a damp squib I spent a lot of time crawing through the code making global changes and a lot of the backgroud functions are now operational. The nice thing is that I can test all of the live sites on the development machine and debug via xdebug in VS Code. This is making checking just where the variables are actually located easier. The key is that bitweaver creates a content object and simply by using that object direc…

A lot has been happening over the last week and I have a lot more that I really need to document! The new server is up and running live and for anonymous users I think I've actually cracked everything although there may still be a few niggles. Some of the security factors keep sticking their head up such as SELinux blocking my php port after I'd rebooted the machine to check. Switching off SELinux was the short term fix, but now I have sorted the settings and an automatic reboot…
