A new 1Tb SSD drive rolled up on Saturday night, and so yesterday was dedicated to rebuilding the old server using Tumbleweed. This is documented on Building a new machine and I also have cloned the plex server over to the new disk which also needs documenting! Well I had bought a new 4k monitor to replace the TV , but getting it to work at 4k has been a bit of a trial as only two of the outputs on the computer will actually go that fast. On older cards I have had 4k out of the VGA port direct to a high res VGA monitor, but here I'm using a VGA to HDMI dongle which is limited to 1080P. Which of cause is all the TV needed even at VGA. The nice thing about working with a database is being able to fix things that have not quite worked right. Today's exercise was to get the protector package working fully again. It should allow me to write content that is private and I'm almost there. I can create pages like Index for private information which will take the casual viewer to the login page. I've been spending a half hour clearing out the gmail account and moving things to local folders. As I was doing that a few old accounts popped up and I thought that is about time I tidied up and created a few links here.
